16 weeks :)

The first trimester wasn't the most fun I've had, but I was so grateful to be pregnant and healthy that life was blissful. I wasn't sick very much, which was great! Belly photos at 16 weeks:

Pregnancy!

After 13 months of trying to get pregnant, we welcomed the very happy & exciting news in October 2010 that we were finally expecting a baby!! I was running just about every morning with Shayla and I'd come home feeling really weak and sick. I didn't think there was any way that I was pregnant, but turns out that that's exactly what it was! We went and got ultrasound pictures in December at about 13 weeks (sorry they are blurry here & don't do the cute baby justice!):

San Diego Trip- Nov 2010

Every fall, Tyron has a neuroscience conference somewhere in the US. It was first in D.C. and then in Chicago and in 2010 it was in San Diego. It was SO nice to leave the cold weather in Utah and get some sunshine and spend time at the beach. Luckily the week we were there it was gorgeous! It got cold and rainy the week after we left- so perfect timing! Tyron fell in love with San Diego (he's still super obsessed with it so don't bring it up!). He was already applying to UCSD but it bumped up to #1 on his list. He ended up not getting in and was bummed about it, but realized that if he did go there he would have spent all of his time at the beach instead of school!
Tyron & his buddies from the lab who were also at the conference.
The 2 pictures above are hilarious & must be explained! So Jake wanted to catch a seagull (who doesn't?). So he dug a trench in the sand, climbed in, and covered himself with a towel. Someone then put food bits on top of the towel. Jake laid there for 20 mins or so until he felt a seagull climb on top and start eating the food. He then sat up and threw the towel over the bird! He actually came super close to catching it!! I ran to get a picture, but didn't make it :) Classic.
Tyron LOVED boogey boarding! We spent a few hours almost everyday we were in SD at the beach. Tyron couldn't get enough. I was already 2-3 months pregnant so I wasn't hardcore with the water sports or sightseeing. I way overdid it the first day and made myself sick.

Dedrickson Family Pics- Fall 2010

My family has NEVER gotten family pictures taken before. We have planned to and just don't because someone complains or something falls through. But with Tyron and I moving, my mom made sure we got them taken. They turned out really great!

Labor Day 2010- Jensen Family Pics

It was nice to get some professional pictures taken with Tyron's family over the Labor Day weekend. We always go to Echo Lake in Montana and so it was a beautiful setting for pictures! Here's a few:

Redwood Forest Trip- Summer 2010

This was one of the best vacations ever! JaCobi & Nathan (Tyron's sister & her hubby) drove down from Canada and we packed the Crown Victoria (such a beast!) to the brim and headed to California! The car was seriously sooo full of stuff- clothes, camping gear, food, etc. for a 2 week vacation. We started in southern Oregon and then drove down the coast camping along the way! We ended in San Francisco for a few days and then drove back. It was a blast! Here's some photos: Our first photo op in the Redwood Forest. The drive coming into it was just breathtaking! Thought we were going on a "short" hike. The trail didn't mention how incredibly long it was! Us on the tram at the Paul Bunyon park.
The classic tree hugger picture :) So before the trip, we found what looked like an awesome KOA on the beach. We got there and it was GHETTO! We were crammed in with no privacy and all kinds of hippies lived there for the summer. The site next to us were a bunch of partying locals who got smashed, trashed, and fighting. They did offer us to hit the bong- they "just wanted to be neighborly." We kindly turned them down :) We were at least hoping the beach was awesome- it was not awesome. It was cloudy and cold the whole time we were there. The water was so freezing it would numb you almost instantly. JaCobi and I sat under blankets and watched our crazy husbands venture out into the water. Driving on the Golden Gate Bridge. We loved San Fran! It was a very fun city with great food, fun sites, and beautiful views. Alcatraz!
We found this place on Fisherman's Wharf that had a ton of old school carnival games- seriously like from the early 1900's. Most of them were the kind where you'd put in a quarter and some creepy puppet would laugh or dance. The one of me is at a machine called "The Laughing Sal." China Town! We ate delicious seafood, went to Wicked, and then to an A's baseball game! We sat on the front row in the upper deck. It was a blast! The pic below is of Tyron, Nathan, and JaCobi singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame."

Catching Up!!

So I haven't kept up with this blog at all! Facebook makes it so easy to quickly post the last pictures with a short caption. But with our baby coming and not everyone on facebook, I'm trying to get it updated! Especially because Tyron doesn't want our baby's pictures on facebook since they are free to use any picture that you post... a little scary! So hopefully I can figure out all the ins & outs to blogging!
